Default Lazy eye (Amblyopia)

R has just been at the Optometrists again this morning. She got glasses about four weeks ago and it was hoped that this would solve her lazy eye/Amblyopia. Unfortunate this hasn't solved the problem so now she needs to wear a patch for about 3 hours most days (not continuous). I was wonder if anyone had any experience with this.

A patch was going to cost $15-$30, I looked at them and thought I could make one of those with fabric I have at home. I have made a couple and will at her request stitch a dragon fly on one later.

When I first put it on she didn't want to wear it saying she couldn't see at all but we did some puzzles together and she forgot about it. She has had it on for about an hour so far.

SAHM to two school kids A (9.5) and R (7.5)

No experience, but I've seen a number of kids going through trying to correct the situation with glasses or patches.

Whew! Fifteen to $30 for an eye-patch? I think you can definitely make one, Kathryn, and I love the dragon-fly embellishment idea.
