New Yorkers cannot dissolve a marriage for irreconcilable differences, unless they both agree to it.

Putting salt on a railroad track may be punishable by death.

A local paper ran an article some years reviewing old laws in that town, some I remember were, 30 days in jail for spitting tobacco on a sidewalk, and if you ride your hoarse to town and go into a place of business and your hoarse damages property it is the responsibility of the store owner because he didn't have suitable means to keep your hoarse tied. I wish I could remember more.

Texas

It is illegal to milk another person’s cow.

Obnoxious odors may not be emitted while in an elevator.

Ok this is just crazy in NY:
"It is illegal for a woman to be on the street wearing “body hugging clothing."

Guess NYC doesnt count???

"The penalty for jumping off a building is death."

Ok after reading through all these, although they are funny, they cannot be real! I mean really:
"While riding in an elevator, one must talk to no one, and fold his hands while looking toward the door.
Slippers are not to be worn after 10:00 P."
I cant believe that those are on the books somewhere.

A lot of times laws don't ever get removed from the books, they just stop being enforced. There are a lot of laws on the books but they are not enforced so people forget they were even a law to begin with. Does this sound familiar to anyone??????

Montana:

It is illegal to have a sheep in the cab of your truck without a chaperone.
It is a felony for a wife to open her husband’s mail. (I am a felon!!)
In Montana, it is illegal for married women to go fishing alone on Sundays, and illegal for unmarried women to fish alone at all.
Seven or more indians are considered a raiding or war party and it is legal to shoot them.
