I was surprised too by the response but it was a very small store with a young shop assistant. When you feel down and are struggling, it's words like that which knocking my confidence.

Hey Susan,

You've had lots of encouraging words so far, so I've not much to add other than my boy was potty trained at 3.5 so I don't think there's anything wrong with your situation. You are clearly a thoughtful Mom and I'm sure your intuition will be the best guide!

One thing I would say is that our little one seemed to hate being on the toilet and would always reach out crying when we sat him on the toilet. We found that getting a potty seat with handles really helped. I think half the problem was that he felt insecure without something to hold on to.
