Red face Anyone?? Restless Leg Syndrome~ RLS

Does anyone here have or know someone who has RLS? I do, and I have had it all my life. Before it was a known problem with a name I used to call it Jumpy Leg
For those who don't know what this is it is a condition where you feel the urge to move your legs all the time. Like there is a ton of energy in them that has to come out. I can not go on long drives without stopping often to get out and walk. Last night I laid in bed for an hour trying to fall asleep. I was so tired but my legs would not stop. I finally got up and paced my bathroom floor, layed on the floor and kicked my legs like crazy, did stretches. After about 30 min I was ok and was able to go back to bed.
I can not take the medication they have for this as it makes you drowsy.
I guess I just needed to get that all out
Does anyone else suffer from this?

Not lately but I have had that feeling before... It will drive you nuts. I notice it when I take some cold medicines which is strange. Do you think exercise makes it better or worse?

I would say it makes it better
All last week I exercised everyday and did not have that problem. I didn't exercise last night and it was bad.

oh yes! I have RLS! it drives me nuts! I don't take medication for it either.
exercising or walking do help.
Isn't it funny the things you find out about people...more common than you would think!
I've had RLS all my life too. maybe it's something we are born with, rather than develop later? IDK

I also think it is heridetary. I know my dad had it and one sister and one brother that I know of have it too. I think Kenton has it sometimes. He will come in my room at night very aggrivated and tell me he can't sleep because his legs are aggrivating him.
I thought I was going to loose my mind last night. It would not stop I even went to bed early so I could get some good sleep and it didn't happen. I am exercising today to I pray tonight will be a good one

It is just recently been given the title of "Syndrome" apperntly a lot of people have it. They have perscriptions for it, but they make you drowsy. I guess they just make you sleep through the aggrevation.

So no worries Eliszabeth, you are not any weirder than we are

I suffer with this for a long time now. I never knew what it was then I started seeing advertisements on tv about this. I never been to the drs. for it,have no insurance but at night I would suffer so bad I would punch my legs until i really hurt myself so I could focus on the pain that I just caused instead of going through the restlessness.(prettysad) but then I heard of miracle green by Dee Simons( shes on the christian channel alot) and I bought her stuff, it is expensive but I noticed a difference in my legs but then I couldnt afford to buy it no more then I heard of Braggs apple cider vinegar and started taking that and I havent suffered with it in a while now. Praise be to God
