When did your kids start needing deodorant and if you have boys what did they use when they started out?
My 10 yr old has started to use dad's deodorant after his showers. However, DH is using Old spice...:yikes: Which means Adam NOW smells like a man :yikes: I am NOT impressed... Maybe I will try Right Guard. I remember when my brothers were preteens/teens they used Right Guard.

My oldest son probably started using it around 10 or 11. My younger son started at about 8... because everyone else in the house used it,and I figured, what's the difference? Now at 10, I don't notice an odor... but he does complain quite a bit about sweatiness, so I would be starting him on it now.
I let my boys choose their own scent, and they seem to like the Adidas, although it is more pricey. I try to steer them towards the speed stick, because I have had good luck with that brand, and I prefer the price. They also like Axe, but I cannot stand the smell, so they don't push it.
Personally, I would take him to the store and let him choose his own, although there are plenty of unscented options available if that's your choice.

Kyle asked about using deoderant so I gave him one of the extra ones I bought for dh. He told me it makes him smell like a dad, he doesn't like it.
I like the idea of taking him to the store and letting him pick it out.
Arm and Hammer makes a deoderant called Natural Essentials that is NOT an anti-perspirant. Sweating is a good thing. It is aluminum and paraben free. It smells very fresh. There is also an oderless version. I bought it for myself and the kids (13 and 17).
Good stuff.

DS6 has had his own deodorant for about a year now! Once brother got his own stick, DSs needed their own too! All 3 buy their deodorant from the dollar store. DS6 also uses Suave's body wash for men. My brother was home on leave, bought toiletries and left everything for my son after he went back overseas.
On a more serious note though, I remember my 5th grade teacher griping about body odor and I think I started wearing deodorant soon after. So, I guess I was around 11 or 12?

My children used deordorant around 10 or 11. I have a daughter who needed deordorant just as much as her brother. I guess some children sweaty glands are more active than others. I myself don't perspire alot my son doesn't either. Except when playing basketball. Mannnnn don't take those tennis shoes off:yikes: I think thats worsier than the arm pits. I think everyone started off with Secret and Arm and Hammers. But be careful sometimes deordorant can break some people out by being to strong. They will have a chaffed arm pitt.
