Does anyone have a program like this in their church???

A member of the congregation would pick/be assigned a child or children to pray for. It can go above and beyond this...but it could just be this simple as saying a prayer for a child on a regular basis.

I'd like to start something like this in our church. I'm interested if any one has experience with a program like this and would be willing to share how their program works?

**edited to fix my scattered thoughts :)**

We have a prayer list in each week's bulletin. Anyone can pray for anyone on the list.

When I was in high school, the church I attended would do something to what you are talking about when we went on mission trips. A prayer partner would be assigned to each kid going on the trip and they would pray for us before we left and while we were gone. They usually would put together a little kit for us to take with us and send us encouraging notes while we were gone as well.

We have a prayer list at our church as well. I too have heard of having prayer partners when someone was going on a missions trip.

Yes as a kid I had a prayer partner. These people were very carefully chosen and assigned to a child. Usually women with girls and men with boys but there were exceptions to this. We were encouraged to met with our prayer partners from time to time. While the main thing was that they were to pray for us we were encouraged to pray for them too. I last saw my prayer partner when I was 10. My family moved. I'm 21 now and still pray for my prayer partner. I have no idea if he still prays for me but he had a huge influance on me as a kid and I am so thankful for this. I have heard of this going wrong in other churches so my warning would be to police check.
